The guitar intro to the Jack's Big Music Show episode Grow Daddio version of Laurie Berkner's Running Down The Hill almost sounds like the guitar intro to John Denver's The Eagle and the Hawk.

They are both wistful songs even though one is sad and one is sort of happy. But there are also similarities in the verse melodies and a bit in the choruses. However this is more pronounced in the version that was done by "Christian" on the CD "Coolidge 50" than it is in the original Shaw Brothers version, so it could be that Christian was channeling New Order in their version.

The verse vocal melody to Leo Sayer's signature 70s soft rock ballad, When I Need Love (released February 1977) bears a strong resemblance to the chorus vocal melody to Leonard Cohen's folk song Famous Blue Raincoat (released 1971). The intro/outro vocal melody to Elton John and Gary Osborne's pop hit Little Jeannie (released May 1,1980) also seems to take inspiration from Famous Blue Raincoat (i.e "You stepped into my life from a bad dream [...]").
