The chorus to John Legend's breakthrough ballad All of Me (released August 12, 2013) bears some resemblance to the chorus to Village People's disco anthem Y.M.C.A. (released November 13, 1978). With the exception of the third chord, both choruses have the same relative chord progression (Y.M.C.A. is in the key of Gb, while All of Me is a whole step higher in the key of Ab). Likewise, relative to each song's key, chorus melodies have similar contours (Y.M.C.A.: 3-5-3-5-3-5 "It's fun to stay at the [...]"; All of Me: 3-5-3-6-3 "'Cause all of me loves [...]").

Y.M.C.A.: Gb-Ebmin-Abmin-Db (I-vi-ii-V or 1-6minor-2minor-5)
