Additional notes/observations:

50 Ways to Say Goodbye was released in June 2012 by San Francisco soft-pop band Train (really a duo comprised of singer Pat Monahan and guitarist Jimmy Stafford). Mariachi horns aside, 50 Ways' main melody (around :14, starting with "my heart is paralyzed") bears a strong resemblance to the melody (around :17, starting with "in sleep, he sang to me") from The Phantom of the Opera, the title song from the Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1986 multi-award-winning musical.
